About The Waterton Foundation

For more than fifteen years, the Waterton Foundation has existed to support initiatives that strengthen the place so many people care deeply about. The foundation focuses on supporting projects and programs that elevate what is possible — initiatives that enrich the community, inspire stewardship, and help preserve the unique character of the region for generations to come.

Through charitable giving and community partnerships, Waterton Foundation directs support toward three key areas:

Community Facilities

Strong communities depend on welcoming spaces where people can gather, connect, and participate in shared experiences. Waterton Foundation supports improvements and enhancements to community facilities that contribute to the vitality and livability of the area. These initiatives may include projects that strengthen community spaces, support recreational opportunities, and enhance the amenities that residents, visitors, and seasonal staff rely on.

One of the most powerful ways to inspire long-term stewardship is through meaningful experiences and learning opportunities. The Waterton Foundation supports programs that deepen understanding of the natural and cultural significance of the region. This includes educational initiatives, interpretive experiences, youth engagement, and activities that help people connect with the landscape, the history, and the community.

The natural beauty and rich history of the area are among its most defining qualities. The Waterton Foundation supports projects that help protect and celebrate these assets. This may include environmental enhancement efforts, conservation initiatives, restoration projects, and programs that preserve and interpret the historical stories that shape the identity of the community.
